Consciousness Is Evolving. And That Includes You.
There is this tiny space between something happening and how I respond.
And lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about that space.
Because so much of my behavior can happen out of reaction.
Something changes.
Someone says something.
A plan falls apart.
I feel disappointed, impatient, judged, resentful, anxious, or suddenly very interested in controlling the entire universe. 😉
And there it is.
The moment of choice.
Not the choice to never feel angry again.
Not the choice to become so evolved that nothing ever bothers me.
That doesn’t sound much like a human experience to me.
The choice is simply:
Can I become aware enough to notice fear before I give it the steering wheel?
Fear can look like anger, resentment, judgment, people-pleasing, impatience, anxiety, or the need to control.
Love can look like gratitude, appreciation, patience, caring, contentment, and compassion.
The emotion isn’t the failure.
It’s information.
Something is active in me right now.
And that is where the choice lives.
What would love choose?
I love this question because it doesn’t ask me to pretend I’m not feeling what I’m feeling.
All emotions are gifts.
That’s part of being human.
But I can feel something without immediately acting from it.
I can notice what is happening in my body.
Are my shoulders tight?
Am I holding my breath?
Do I feel contracted?
My body is communicating with me all the time.
And instead of racing right past that information, I can create a little more space.
A little more stillness.
A little more awareness.
And ask:
How do I choose to show up?
That, to me, is where real change starts.
You can choose again.
This may be one of my favorite things to remember.
I don’t have to be stuck.
A thought can be just a thought.
An old pattern can show up without getting to run the whole show.
I can notice it.
I can become curious about it.
And I can choose again.
That’s very different from judging myself for not being “further along.”
I don’t think the goal is to arrive at some magical destination where nothing pushes our buttons anymore.
There are always going to be highs and lows.
The high doesn’t last forever.
Neither does the low.
That’s as reliable as breathing.
The invitation is to keep becoming more aware of what we’re practicing.
What are we giving our attention to?
What are we rehearsing?
What are we contributing?
Because your becoming is not just about you.
I keep coming back to this:
Your becoming contributes to our becoming.
We are far more interconnected than we realize.
The way you think, feel, heal, love, and show up contributes something to the whole.
Your healing matters.
Your joy matters.
Your fear contributes something.
Your courage contributes something.
Which means consciousness evolving isn’t some abstract thing happening “out there.”
It includes you.
It includes me.
It includes the way we respond to the person who irritates us.
The way we speak to ourselves when something doesn’t go according to plan.
The way we bring ourselves to our work.
The way we love.
The way we listen.
The way we decide what we will keep carrying and what we are ready to choose differently.
So instead of only asking:
What should I do?
Maybe the more interesting question is:
Who am I becoming?
And how is that contributing?
You don’t need the entire path.
This is another place where I have to remind myself to loosen my grip.
We get so hung up on how.
How am I going to get there?
How is this going to work?
How will I know?
What if I make the wrong choice?
But you don’t need the entire path.
You only need the next step.
Clarity is created through movement.
You can spend time going within.
You can listen.
You can pay attention to what feels expansive and alive.
You can notice the nudges.
You can become more available to support.
And then you can move.
You don’t have to have the ten-point plan.
Possibility is often much bigger than what you can currently see.
So maybe the practice isn’t figuring everything out.
Maybe it’s becoming available.
I am available for support.
Show me what I need to see.
And then listen.
What do you actually want?
It is dangerously easy to go with what everybody else wants when we haven’t really asked ourselves what we want.
Who am I?
Who do I want to be?
What do I want?
What makes me happy?
What would I like more of?
What would I like less of?
What feels expansive and alive?
These aren’t frivolous questions.
They are alignment questions.
And our outer lives expand when our inner lives align.
You don’t need to become someone else.
You may simply need enough stillness to hear more clearly what has been there all along.
And then enough courage to honor it.
Consciousness is evolving.
And that includes you.
So maybe today isn’t about reinventing your whole life.
Maybe it’s about noticing one moment when an old reaction arrives...
Creating just a little more space...
And asking:
What would love choose here?
Then choose again.
And see what becomes possible.
Want to explore this with me?
If this kind of inner work is calling to you, Quantum Collective Joy Lab is a space where what you’re sensing on the inside has room to begin taking shape on the outside.
We slow down.
We listen.
We get curious about what wants to emerge, what we’re ready to choose differently, and what we want to call into being.
You don’t need to have the whole path figured out.
You just need to be willing to notice the nudge and take the next step.
Come explore what’s possible with us inside Quantum Collective Joy Lab.

A thought to sit with:
If the way you think, feel, heal, love, and show up contributes something to the whole, what do you want your becoming to contribute today?
